Neste, a Finnish leader in renewable fuels, and DB Schenker, a global logistics powerhouse headquartered in Germany, have announced the expansion of their partnership to introduce and scale Neste MY Renewable Diesel in Singapore and the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. This move supports a joint commitment to reducing transport-related carbon emissions across the logistics sector.
Renewable Diesel Launches in Singapore Logistics Market
The collaboration follows a successful three-month pilot program between December 2024 and February 2025, during which DB Schenker powered its land transport fleet in Singapore using Neste MY Renewable Diesel. This marked the debut of renewable diesel in Singapore’s road logistics industry — a notable step towards cleaner, sustainable transportation in one of Asia’s major logistics hubs.
Neste MY Renewable Diesel is produced entirely from renewable raw materials and serves as a drop-in replacement for conventional fossil diesel, requiring no changes to existing engines or fuel infrastructure.
“The use of Neste MY Renewable Diesel in Singapore is a milestone for both companies,” said Ee Pin Lee, Head of Commercial, APAC, Renewable Products at Neste. “This demonstrates the crucial role renewable diesel can play in decarbonizing logistics operations.”
Cutting Emissions in Singapore’s Land Transport Sector
According to Singapore’s National Climate Change Secretariat, land transport contributes approximately 15% of the nation’s carbon emissions. Neste’s renewable diesel has the potential to reduce lifecycle greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by up to 90% compared to traditional diesel, depending on the feedstock and regulatory framework.
DB Schenker Eyes Regional Expansion
Following the Singapore trial, DB Schenker plans to expand the use of renewable diesel across its APAC operations as part of its long-term decarbonization strategy.
“DB Schenker is committed to conducting its business with the smallest possible ecological footprint,” said Christoph Matthes, Senior Vice President and Head of Land Transport, APAC. “We aim to transform the logistics industry with renewable diesel as a viable, scalable solution.”
Proven Partnership and Regional Supply Chain Support
Neste and DB Schenker have previously collaborated in Finland, where the logistics provider adopted Neste’s renewable diesel in its light distribution fleet and tested high-power charging for electric heavy-duty vehicles.
Neste’s Singapore refinery, one of the world’s largest renewable fuels production sites, plays a key role in distributing sustainable transport fuels across the Asia-Pacific region.
