In a major stride toward strengthening India’s renewable energy infrastructure, InSolare Energy Limited has been awarded the prestigious 600 MW / 1,200 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) contract by the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI).

This is one of SECI’s largest standalone BESS projects to date, reinforcing InSolare’s growing leadership in India’s clean energy and energy storage ecosystem. The project will play a pivotal role in bolstering grid reliability, renewable integration, and national energy security — aligning with India’s Net Zero ambitions.

A Landmark Project for India’s Renewable Transition

The BESS project will be located in Kolimigundla, Nandiyal District, Andhra Pradesh, and will connect to the Kurnool-3 substation of the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) network. The scope includes design, engineering, civil works, installation, testing, commissioning, and five years of comprehensive operations and maintenance (O&M).

The initiative represents a cornerstone of SECI’s clean energy roadmap and will support India’s renewable power reliability and storage infrastructure — enabling seamless renewable power dispatch during non-solar hours.

InSolare’s Legacy of Innovation and Engineering Excellence

Founded in 2008, InSolare Energy has been a front-runner in India’s solar revolution for over 16 years. From India’s first 5 MW solar tracker project in 2011 to Asia’s largest canal-top solar plant in Gujarat (15 MW), the company has consistently pushed technological and operational boundaries.

With an EPC portfolio exceeding 1 GW across 22 Indian states, InSolare has diversified into TopCon module manufacturing, green hydrogen, electrolyzer technology, and energy storage systems, transforming into a full-stack clean energy infrastructure company.

Dr. Sunit Tyagi, Chairman & Managing Director, InSolare Energy Limited, said:

“Addressing climate change has been our north star, and we have always leaned on innovation to deliver solutions that stand apart in quality and results. This BESS project is another engineering milestone and promises to make India’s clean energy dependable, dispatchable, and scalable. As we expand into energy storage, we’re ensuring that sustainability and reliability evolve together.”

Driving India’s Net-Zero Goals

The SECI BESS award underscores InSolare’s role as a trusted partner in India’s Net Zero 2070 vision. As renewable energy penetration rises, large-scale storage systems will be critical to balancing supply-demand gaps, reducing curtailment, and stabilizing the national grid.

InSolare’s selection by SECI demonstrates its technical depth, execution excellence, and alignment with India’s long-term energy security framework.

Engineering for a Smarter, Sustainable Future

Dr. Hemanshu Bhatt, Executive Director & CTO, added:

“With every project, we ask a simple question — how can we deliver energy that’s cleaner, smarter, and more enduring? The answer lies in relentless innovation, disciplined execution, and integrity. These values define InSolare’s culture and drive our mission to create lasting impact.”

InSolare continues to combine AI-driven forecasting, data analytics, and sustainable construction to redefine India’s renewable EPC landscape. The company envisions digitally managed, locally manufactured, and globally benchmarked energy infrastructure for the future.
