AMPIN Energy Transition has successfully commissioned its first solar open access project in Eastern India, a 50 MWp plant located in Village Gatapar, Bemetara district, Chhattisgarh. The project supplies renewable power to Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd and one of the state’s largest steel manufacturers, marking a major milestone in AMPIN’s clean energy journey.
Record execution and strategic expansion
Completed in a record nine months, the project highlights Chhattisgarh’s progressive Green Energy Open Access (GEOA) policy and the state’s ease of doing business. For AMPIN, it represents a strategic step in strengthening its renewable energy portfolio in the Eastern Region.
The solar facility is projected to generate 78.21 million units of green energy annually, reducing nearly 64,132 tonnes of CO₂ emissions every year. This impact is equivalent to planting 3.05 million trees, removing 13,942 cars from the road, or powering 65,175 households annually—directly supporting India’s clean energy and sustainability targets.
Energy savings and sustainability benefits
The project enables industrial consumers to replace over 80 percent of conventional grid power with renewable energy. Customers are expected to save 30–40 percent in energy costs compared to current Discom tariffs, while gaining a reliable and predictable green power supply.
AMPIN is also expanding further in Chhattisgarh, with 21 MWp under construction and an additional 100 MWp of renewable energy projects in development.
