  • Sustainable Logistics Becoming Key Business Priority
  • India’s Integrated Logistics Ecosystem Expanding

The collaboration introduces a dedicated rail freight logistics system aimed at improving export efficiency while reducing the environmental impact of transportation operations.

Dedicated Rail Freight Service for Frozen Food Exports

As part of the initiative, HyFun Foods will use an exclusive rail-based logistics corridor to transport frozen products from Virochannagar Inland Container Depot (ICD) to Mundra Port in Gujarat.

Mundra Port, operated by Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone, will serve as the key export gateway, while Evergreen Marine Corporation will handle international shipping operations.

The integrated logistics arrangement is expected to create a seamless export corridor for temperature-sensitive frozen food products.

Reducing Truck Traffic and Carbon Emissions

According to the company, each dedicated train movement is expected to replace nearly 40 truck trips.

The shift from road-based freight to rail logistics is expected to:

  • Reduce fuel consumption
  • Lower transportation-related carbon emissions
  • Ease highway congestion
  • Improve supply chain efficiency
  • Strengthen cold-chain reliability

Industry experts believe rail-based logistics solutions can significantly improve sustainability within food export supply chains by lowering overall environmental impact.

Focus on Sustainable and Temperature-Controlled Logistics

The new logistics model has been designed to support:

  • Temperature-controlled transportation
  • Reliable cold-chain management
  • Faster cargo movement
  • Reduced handling risks for frozen products

Maintaining controlled temperature conditions is critical for frozen food exports to preserve product quality and meet international safety standards.

HyFun Foods Expands Global Export Operations

HyFun Foods currently exports frozen food products to more than 40 countries worldwide.

The company said the partnership will help strengthen its international supply chain infrastructure as it targets expansion into over 100 global markets in the coming years.

Kamlesh Karamchandani, Executive Director at HyFun Foods, said the initiative would support:

  • Faster export operations
  • Greater logistics reliability
  • Improved sustainability performance
  • Scalable global growth

Sustainable Logistics Becoming Key Business Priority

Companies across industries are increasingly investing in greener logistics and supply chain infrastructure to:

  • Reduce emissions
  • Improve operational efficiency
  • Meet ESG goals
  • Strengthen export competitiveness

Rail-based freight transportation is gaining popularity as businesses seek alternatives to diesel-heavy road logistics systems.

The frozen food sector, in particular, requires advanced logistics infrastructure due to its dependence on:

  • Cold-chain management
  • Time-sensitive delivery
  • Quality preservation standards

India’s Integrated Logistics Ecosystem Expanding

India has been rapidly investing in:

  • Multimodal logistics infrastructure
  • Dedicated freight corridors
  • Port connectivity
  • Sustainable transportation systems

Industry analysts believe integrated rail-port-shipping partnerships could significantly improve India’s export competitiveness while supporting sustainability and decarbonisation goals.

Conclusion

The partnership between HyFun Foods, Adani Logistics, and Evergreen Marine highlights the growing importance of sustainable logistics solutions in global food exports.

As companies focus on reducing supply chain emissions and improving operational efficiency, integrated rail and shipping networks are expected to play an increasingly important role in India’s evolving export and cold-chain ecosystem.
