Waaree Renewable Technologies Limited (WRTL) has secured a major engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract for a 300 MW/450 MWp ground-mounted solar power project, further strengthening its position in India’s rapidly expanding renewable energy sector.

Contents
  • Comprehensive EPC Scope for Large-Scale Solar Development
  • Strengthening Waaree’s Renewable Energy Portfolio
  • Sunsational Power to Drive Renewable Energy Expansion
  • Waaree Group’s Growing Presence in Solar Energy
  • India’s Solar Sector Continues to Expand

The company received a Letter of Award (LoA) from its wholly owned subsidiary, Sunsational Power Private Limited (SPPL), for the execution of the project. The contract includes end-to-end EPC services as well as operation and maintenance (O&M) support for a period of two years after commissioning.

The latest order marks a significant addition to Waaree Renewable Technologies’ growing project portfolio and underscores the company’s focus on supporting India’s clean energy transition.

Comprehensive EPC Scope for Large-Scale Solar Development

Under the agreement, WRTL will be responsible for delivering the complete solar project lifecycle, including:

  • Engineering and project design
  • Procurement of equipment and components
  • Construction and installation
  • Testing and commissioning
  • Operation and maintenance services for two years

The project is expected to be completed during FY2026-27, in line with the agreed project schedule.

With a total capacity of 300 MW AC (450 MWp DC), the solar installation will contribute significantly to India’s renewable energy generation capacity and support the country’s long-term decarbonization goals.

Strengthening Waaree’s Renewable Energy Portfolio

The contract represents one of the key project awards within Waaree Renewable Technologies’ expanding solar EPC business and reinforces its expertise in executing utility-scale renewable energy projects.

India continues to witness strong momentum in solar power deployment as government initiatives, corporate sustainability commitments, and rising electricity demand drive investments in clean energy infrastructure.

As one of the leading players in the solar EPC segment, WRTL has been actively involved in delivering large-scale solar projects for commercial, industrial, and utility-scale applications.

Sunsational Power to Drive Renewable Energy Expansion

Sunsational Power Private Limited was established as a dedicated renewable energy platform within the Waaree ecosystem to undertake power generation projects based on renewable energy technologies.

The company focuses on:

  • Solar power generation
  • Wind energy projects
  • Renewable power transmission and distribution
  • Clean energy infrastructure development
  • Power plant EPC execution

The award of this project highlights the strategic collaboration between the two entities as Waaree continues expanding its renewable energy footprint.

Waaree Group’s Growing Presence in Solar Energy

Mumbai-headquartered Waaree Renewable Technologies is a key part of the Waaree Group’s renewable energy business and plays a central role in the development, financing, ownership, and operation of solar energy assets.

The company provides integrated solar solutions across multiple sectors, with a strong focus on commercial and industrial customers seeking cost-effective and sustainable energy alternatives.

Over the past decade, the Waaree Group has emerged as one of India’s most prominent renewable energy companies, with interests spanning:

  • Solar module manufacturing
  • Solar EPC services
  • Renewable power generation
  • Energy storage solutions
  • Green hydrogen initiatives

India’s Solar Sector Continues to Expand

The latest project award comes at a time when India is accelerating investments in renewable energy infrastructure to meet its ambitious clean energy targets.

Solar power remains a key pillar of the country’s energy transition strategy, with utility-scale projects driving a significant share of new renewable capacity additions.

Industry analysts expect demand for solar EPC services to remain strong as both public and private sector investments continue to flow into renewable energy projects across the country.

The 300 MW solar project further strengthens Waaree Renewable Technologies’ market position while contributing to India’s broader objective of expanding renewable energy capacity, reducing carbon emissions, and enhancing long-term energy security.

As renewable energy adoption gains momentum, projects of this scale are expected to play a critical role in supporting India’s transition toward a cleaner and more sustainable energy future.
