Waaree Energies Limited, one of India’s leading solar photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturers, has secured a significant order for the supply of 800 MW of solar modules from a prominent domestic energy solutions provider. The new contract further strengthens the company’s order pipeline as India accelerates its renewable energy expansion and energy transition efforts.

The company disclosed the development through a regulatory filing, stating that the order was received on June 15, 2026. The contract involves a one-time supply of solar modules and is scheduled for execution during the financial year 2026-27.

Large Solar Module Order Supports Renewable Energy Expansion

According to the filing, the customer is a leading Indian energy solutions company. While Waaree Energies has not revealed the identity of the client, the company confirmed that the modules will be supplied for solar power projects located within India.

The order reflects the increasing demand for domestically manufactured solar modules as developers, utilities, and energy companies continue investing in large-scale solar projects to support India’s clean energy goals.

India has been aggressively expanding its renewable energy capacity, with solar energy playing a central role in achieving the country’s long-term sustainability and decarbonisation objectives.

Growing Preference for Domestic Solar Manufacturing

The latest contract highlights the growing momentum behind India’s domestic solar manufacturing ecosystem.

Government initiatives such as the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, import regulations, and policies encouraging local manufacturing have significantly boosted demand for Indian-made solar modules. As project developers increasingly seek reliable domestic suppliers, companies like Waaree Energies continue to benefit from the expanding market opportunity.

The 800 MW order is expected to support the deployment of utility-scale solar projects while contributing to India’s efforts to reduce dependence on imported solar equipment and strengthen energy security.

No Related-Party Involvement

Waaree Energies clarified that the contract has been awarded by a domestic entity and does not involve any related-party transaction.

The company further confirmed that neither its promoters nor members of the promoter group have any financial interest in the customer awarding the contract. This ensures the transaction has been executed on an arm’s-length basis in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Supporting India’s Clean Energy Targets

India continues to witness strong growth in solar energy deployment as the country works toward its ambitious renewable energy and net-zero goals.

The increasing scale of solar installations is creating substantial opportunities for domestic manufacturers across the renewable energy value chain, including solar modules, cells, inverters, energy storage systems, and associated infrastructure.

With large-scale solar projects continuing to be announced across multiple states, demand for high-efficiency solar modules is expected to remain robust in the coming years.

Industry experts believe that domestic manufacturers with established production capabilities, strong execution track records, and integrated manufacturing operations will be well-positioned to capitalize on the next phase of India’s solar growth story.

Waaree Energies Strengthens Market Presence

As one of India’s leading solar manufacturers, Waaree Energies has continued to expand its manufacturing capacity and project portfolio to meet growing domestic and international demand.

The latest 800 MW order further reinforces the company’s position in the Indian renewable energy sector while supporting the broader objective of accelerating clean energy adoption across the country.

With execution scheduled during FY 2026-27, the project is expected to contribute significantly to upcoming solar installations and strengthen India’s transition toward a low-carbon and sustainable energy future.

Outlook

The 800 MW solar module supply contract marks another important milestone for Waaree Energies as India’s renewable energy sector continues its rapid expansion.

The order reflects rising confidence in domestic solar manufacturing capabilities and highlights the growing role of Indian companies in supporting the country’s clean energy ambitions. As solar deployment accelerates and demand for locally manufactured equipment increases, Waaree Energies is expected to remain a key player in India’s renewable energy growth journey.
