Mumbai, India | October 6, 2026 – Tata Power Solaroof, the rooftop solar business of Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd. (TPREL), has crossed 5.67 GWp of cumulative rooftop solar capacity across India, with more than 575,000 installations across residential and commercial and industrial (C&I) segments, according to the company.
The milestone comes as rooftop solar adoption continues to expand across Indian states, with Tata Power Solaroof reporting strong growth in installations and capacity during the first half of FY27.
Rooftop Solar Installations Rise 33% in Q2 FY27
During the July-September quarter (Q2 FY27), Tata Power Solaroof completed 88,397 rooftop solar installations, representing a 33% year-on-year increase from the 66,447 installations recorded during Q2 FY26.
The associated rooftop solar capacity reached 426 MWp, compared with 369 MWp in the same quarter a year earlier. This represents a 15% year-on-year increase in installed capacity.
The growth reflects increasing adoption of rooftop solar systems across both residential consumers and commercial and industrial customers.
H1 FY27 Installations Grow 50%
Tata Power Solaroof added more than 168,530 rooftop solar installations during the first six months of FY27.
That represents a 50% increase compared with the 112,729 installations added during H1 FY26.
The installations represented 801 MWp of rooftop solar capacity, up 25% from the 639 MWp installed during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.
The company’s H1 performance indicates continued expansion in rooftop solar deployment across multiple Indian markets.
Uttar Pradesh Leads H1 FY27 Installations
Uttar Pradesh recorded the highest number of Tata Power Solaroof installations during the first six months of FY27.
The state added 44,014 installations, representing approximately 172 MWp of rooftop solar capacity.
Other major contributors included:
- Maharashtra: 22,165 installations, nearly 100 MWp
- Rajasthan: 21,275 installations, 99 MWp
- Kerala: 15,477 installations, approximately 65 MWp
The state-wise numbers highlight the increasingly broad geographic adoption of rooftop solar across India.
Uttar Pradesh Leads Cumulative Installations
On a cumulative basis, Uttar Pradesh also has the highest number of Tata Power Solaroof installations.
The state has recorded 116,254 systems, representing 528 MWp of cumulative rooftop solar capacity.
Maharashtra ranks next with 73,578 installations and an aggregate capacity of 1,041 MWp.
Kerala has contributed 69,734 installations, representing more than 310 MWp, while Rajasthan has recorded 44,798 installations with cumulative capacity of 390 MWp.
