TIME and Statista Recognize Global Sustainability Leaders

The annual World’s Most Sustainable Companies ranking is compiled by TIME in collaboration with Statista.

More than 5,800 global companies were evaluated across over 20 sustainability indicators, including:

  • Environmental performance
  • Corporate sustainability commitments
  • ESG reporting and transparency
  • Social responsibility
  • Governance practices

The assessment identifies organizations demonstrating measurable progress in integrating sustainability into their core business operations.

HCLTech Advances Net-Zero Goals Ahead of Schedule

HCLTech said the recognition reflects its ongoing efforts to align its sustainability strategy with the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Among its key sustainability achievements during FY26:

  • Achieved its 2030 Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)-validated emissions reduction target four years ahead of schedule
  • Replenished 51 times more water than it consumed, setting a new benchmark in water stewardship
  • Maintained Zero Waste-to-Landfill Platinum Certification across all company-owned facilities

These milestones form part of the company’s broader ambition to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040.

Sustainability at the Core of Business Strategy

According to HCLTech, sustainability has become an integral part of its long-term business strategy, with investments focused on innovation, operational efficiency, and responsible resource management.

The company continues to integrate sustainability initiatives across its operations while supporting customers in their own environmental and digital transformation journeys.

Leadership Perspective

Commenting on the achievement, Vipul Arora, Global Head of Sustainability at HCLTech, said the recognition reflects the company’s continued progress in embedding sustainability deeper into its business.

He added that HCLTech remains focused on accelerating its 2040 net-zero ambition through innovation, strategic partnerships, and responsible business practices that create long-term value for clients, communities, and the wider ecosystem.

Growing Importance of Corporate Sustainability

Recognition from global sustainability rankings is becoming increasingly important as investors, customers, regulators, and stakeholders place greater emphasis on ESG performance.

Technology companies are expanding investments in renewable energy, water conservation, waste management, and carbon reduction while embedding sustainability into digital transformation initiatives.

HCLTech’s latest recognition further strengthens its position among global companies leading the transition toward more sustainable and responsible business practices.
