New Delhi: Smarten Power Systems has announced the appointment of Ranjit Singh as its Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective August 1, 2026, following approval by the company’s Board of Directors on July 14, 2026.

The appointment comes as the company strengthens its manufacturing capabilities and expands its portfolio of power backup and renewable energy solutions to meet rising demand across domestic and international markets.

Ranjit Singh to Lead Operations and Manufacturing

Prior to his elevation as COO, Ranjit Singh served as Consultant and Vice President – Operations at Smarten Power Systems.

In his new role, he will oversee the company’s end-to-end operations, including:

  • Manufacturing operations
  • Supply chain management
  • Quality systems
  • Production excellence
  • Strategic execution
  • Operational expansion across existing and upcoming facilities

The leadership transition reflects Smarten’s focus on building scalable operations while supporting its long-term growth strategy.

Played a Key Role in Manufacturing Expansion

During his tenure as Vice President – Operations, Singh led the successful transition of Smarten’s in-house battery manufacturing facility in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, following the company’s IPO.

He supervised the transfer of manufacturing operations while establishing production systems, operational processes, and teams required to stabilise in-house manufacturing.

As COO, he will now oversee operations across Smarten’s manufacturing plants while leading the operationalisation of the company’s upcoming production facility.

CEO Highlights Leadership Strength

Commenting on the appointment, Rajnish Sharma, Whole-Time Director and Chief Executive Officer of Smarten Power Systems, said:

Ranjit brings deep operational expertise, extensive manufacturing experience and a proven track record of building high-performing operations. Ranjit Singh brings more than 52 years of experience across manufacturing, engineering, operations, product development, telecommunications power, power electronics, and renewable energy.

Throughout his career, he has held senior leadership positions at several organisations, including:

  • Ascom India
  • Benning SMC Power Systems
  • Bhurji Electronics
  • JCT Electronics
  • UPTRON Powertronics
  • USHA Rectifier Corporation India
  • Eastern Electronics

His extensive expertise is expected to strengthen Smarten’s manufacturing capabilities as the company expands globally.

Supporting Smarten’s Growth Strategy

Smarten Power Systems designs, manufactures, and supplies power backup systems, solar energy products, inverters, batteries, and energy storage solutions for residential, commercial, and industrial customers.

The company currently operates across 23 Indian states and two Union Territories while exporting products to more than 17 countries spanning the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia.

With growing demand for renewable energy, energy storage, and reliable power infrastructure, Smarten continues to invest in manufacturing capacity, operational efficiency, and product innovation.

The appointment of Ranjit Singh as COO aligns with the company’s strategy to strengthen operational excellence while expanding its footprint in India’s rapidly evolving clean energy and power backup market.
